What it does is make the game more accessible to the current wave of young gamers, who are used to it from playing various computer MMOs. Plus, you can't really tell me that min/max-ers didn't exist until 4E... :)<br /><br />As for the magic items listed above: I wonder if we could get a WotC ruling on approximate level fo those? Great stuff. All of the DM's levers and gears are now laid out, in full view, and are converted into simple die-roll modifiers and stats.<br /><br />Great for optimizers, and people who want to game the game.
